This holiday season, many kids will be glued to the TV, adding the toys they see in commercials to their wish lists. And Christmas morning, they'll unwrap their presents, elated they got that super awesome Hot Wheels set. Then they'll actually play with it.

The ads made them seem so great. Look at how fast they go! ZOOM! WOOSH! That's gonna be so cool flying from my window!

But as this mock video from Jest shows, it ain't so hot. Just watch the video and imagine what horrible awakenings these children are in for this Christmas. Welcome to the world of hyperbolic advertisement, young'ns. [Jest via Buzzfeed]

Isn't this what that movie "A Christmas Story" is all about...expectations, and them not being met? That's pretty much every day of life. Them being disillusioned by real life toy vs TV toy is a really important lesson...that you shouldn't feel responsible for exposing them to it.

Honestly, I bet lots of parents are even MORE disappointed than their kids, when the awesome toy that looked awesome is sort of totally lame.
