Just a few days ago we learned that Sony Australia would dish out a free Playstation 3 with the purchase of any Bravia 1080p LCD TV. It appears that Sony has now expanded the program to include the U.S.—albeit with a few "minor" changes. Unfortunately if you want to score this deal in the States you have to apply for a Sony Card in addition to purchasing a select Sony HDTV. So, if you were in the market for a SonyCard, a Sony HDTV and a PS3 you are golden. Better hurry though, the promotion ends on Dec. 31st. [Sony Thanks Stephen!]

Wow the deal is already off. I just clicked on it to apply and was greeted by " offer no longer available".
"Apply for the Sony Card, BE INSTANTLY APPROVED, and get a PS3"
So you have to be approved for the card. So technically, this promotion is racist against blacks. We all know blacks don't have good enough credit to get a specialty card. Hell, I'm lucky enough to have a debit card.
@deadhouseplants: Is this one of those racist jokes that you are allowed to make because you are making fun of your own race?
@Brian Lam: BL time to BH.
@DocGratis: I don't get it.
Brian Lam time to Ban Hammer?
On point, who the hell wants to apply for a credit card? Especially a 'Sony' card? Gimme' a break.
how long do i have to keep the sony card before canceling the stupid thing?!
@Brian Lam: Yeah what bitfactory said.. I was trying to supportive without being clear I was say the guy deserves to be banned, because I think your suspicion is correct..
The subtleness was to keep him from realizing what he has to do avoid the ban hammer...
That link doesn't work anymore, but if you go to the SonyRewards homepage, you'll still find the offer there.

@Brian Lam: please shave your ball ticklers off
Blah! The 46" Sony Bravia W3000 I just bought for $1645 at Circuit City on Black Friday costs 249,999 rewards points with this offer (that's $2500). I only got a 40gb PS3, though.
They had these "free PS3" deals at Bestbuy and Circuit City. I think the credit card application is only if you plan on financing it (ie not paying for it for the first year).
Do I smell a fire sale?
It says it has expired.
@deadhouseplants: IF, this is in fact serious, you oughta go to banhammer hell. Then go to ACTUAL hell.
IF, it was not, these guys need to lighten up and realize that most ACTUAL humor is uncomfortable and hard to take in for the weak of brain.
If it hurts your feelings go to room and tell your teddy bears how the big bad computer screen said bad words and is gonna need to go to church.
I'm not black and I have bad credit. Not all black people have bad credit. It is a funny and well recognized that black people are "late" doing stuff. like... getting to work, waking up, paying bills, coming back from breaks, getting to america... ok that is racist. is it funny? a little, not so much. did it kill anyone? no, i hope not.
To quote Dave Chappelle- "Oh! THE racism.... It's killing me on the inside..."
probably the worst deal ever. you have to buy it from the sony store which is WAYYY over priced. I found the tv i was looking for in a store near to my house for $1,400 cheaper so the $500 PS3 isn't even worth it. would have just sold it anyway to buy a new smaller tc or something. xbox360 FTW
@deadhouseplants:
Actually its "technically" not racist in any way; as the offer is based on credit history and not skin color. You are (in fact and not in technicality) racist for insisting that skin color automatically determines credibility.
Ass.
they need to throw in a real blu ray player also that they can take a lead in this race.
In what way is the PS3 a fake Blu-ray player?
