The Wiimote is alright and everything, but what good is all the motion control in the world if you can't pistol-whip player 2? This Colt .45 Wiimote mod doesn't make the Wiimote fire bullets, but with this much "gunmetal" aluminum plate, the police will goomba-stomp your ass before you can say "Duck Hunt" anyway. [projects]

That metaphor was full of win.
here's more pics
Kids, don't challenge any cops to a game with this controller...
Hmm, they could probably use this as a cop tryaining tool.
I'll bet it would be problematic flying back from CES with this thing.
While it would be awesome to have access to a CNC milling machine, I think I am going to wait until the Nyko Perfect Shot comes out.
Kudos on the gun though.
I've said it before and I'll say it again..
Where are the zombie shooting games for the Wii?!?
does it play doom?
will it blend?
@huygir: I'm new to Wii, but isn't Resident Evil a zombie shooting game?
This is ok, but with a CNC mill you can do so much more. Instead of using standoffs they should have gotten thicker aluminum and made the entire case a pocket cutout (similar to what was done to house the batteries). Also the outside should have been machined for a more comfortable grip. Sure it takes longer to mill and there is WAY more setup but the outcome is worth it. Also, I think it would be nice to make a rechargeable version.
The way this looks it makes me think a standard mill was used not a CNC mill. Don't get me wrong, this is still cool, but I would like to see a rev 2 with what I mentioned above.
Also, with all the work put into this why not relocate the buttons on the Wiimote to the casing so you can press them with the same hand that is holding the gun. This is what I am in process of doing to a standard plastic wiimote pistol grip I bought. Having the buttons on top makes it difficult to play any gun game for the Wii since you use them often during gameplay.
@bucho54:
Yes i did use a standard manual milling machine (it was all i could afford) so that limits my ability to do the above. I am actually in the process of relocating the buttons but making them intuitive and accessible is harder than it seems. As for the rechargeables I don't really have a huge issue with the battery life.

as a black man I will stay as far away from this mod as possible
I cn haez acsidentuhl shoeting?
@flame500: I can't afford either so that is why I am modding a plastic shell. :)
Anyway, great job and keep it up!
