iPhone Devs should go grab the newest SDK release, which comes with a new tutorial and extends the beta 2.0 firmware. It also has various bug fixes and "support for the latest iPhone OS." [Apple]

Any commenters here get accepted into the developer program?
when are some of these apps going to be ready...or are they already? I just picked a ipod touch today!
I'd like to know that too! When are we going to see some of the apps? I hope they cure some of the iphones worst problems--no syncing of notes in Outlook, unable to categorize contacts when synching with Outlook, no spreadsheet program or finance calculator apps that work offline. The iphone has it's pluses, but there are some major fixes that I hope these apps will bring.
Apps will start appearing when 2.0 is out of beta and released to the public in June (at the WWDC).
When? This summer when apple opens the store... I believe it was scheduled for 3 months from when the first SDK was released in late Feb.
Also, right now its kinda rough to develop cause the SDKs thus far have been unstable or just plain don't support the entire documented API. Also, most of us developers who applied to pulish apps are still waiting to get "in" the program. I'm pressing ahead as best I can, but I know people who are on hold til the SDK matures, or they get reassurance that their development time is worth while because they haven't been "accepted" into the program yet.
Oh, and don't look for modifications to existing apps to come from non-apple developers. New apps are effectively sandboxed and have no access to mess with existing apple installed apps unless they provide some hooks into them (which so far don't exist).
i got accepted to the program but i installed the SDK and now i don't know where the hell it is...my innocence and joy has been lost =[
@akira_santiago: Funny I was wondering the same thing. I downloaded it to sample, but it seems to just disappear into the system.
What makes it funny and fucked up at the same time is that the file is huge.
@akira_santiago, Kaiser-Machead: If you're having trouble just downloading and installing the SDK, maybe you should put your iPhone development aspirations on hold... =p
@Kaiser-Machead: exactly! i have 4GB on my macbook that has disappeared into space...
@itchytooth: Do you mean with the iFund?
cant event get it to shake hands with exchange using AS so far...
@akira_santiago, Kaiser-Machead:You have xCode installed presumably, fire it up.
There are good tutorials in the iphone dev site.
this isnt available for windows users, is it? I know the first version wasnt, but maybe apple decided to be nice??
@shorty6049: No, still now windows version. I think it's their way at getting back at all the visual studio developers who make fun of xCode.
Why would you think there would be a Windows version?
Can you see Microsoft going through the trouble of making the .Net platform run natively within OS X?.. and they have a much larger user and developer base for that than Apple and it's iPhone...
XCode/iPhone SDK on windows = Crazy talk.
