What can you get from a RC car with some wires attached and a lot of wine bottles? Drunk driving and the Mario theme, that's what. We have included the complete lyrics so you can sing along after the jump.
Today, full of energy, Mario is still running, running
Go save Princess Peach! Go!
Today, full of energy, Mario runs
Today, full of energy, jumping!
Today, full of energy, searching for coins
Today, keep going, Mario!
Get a mushroom - it's Super Mario!
Get a flower - it's Fire Mario!
Goomba! Troopa! Buzzy Beetle! Beat them all!
Mario is always full of energy and strong!
[Spoken] The only one who can reverse the spell that has captured the Mushroom People is Princess Peach. But Princess Peach is hidden underground, in a far-off castle. Ah, the days of peace... if we could once more return to those days... to save Princess Peach and bring peace back to the Mushroom Kingdom, that is why Mario is on his journey today.
Today, full of energy, Mario is still running, running
Go and beat the Koopa tribe, go!
Today, full of energy, Mario runs
Today, full of energy, jumping!
Today, full of energy, searching for coins
Today, keep going, Mario!
Get a star - become invincible!
Quickly, go save Princess Peach!
Lakitu! Blooper! Cheep Cheep! Beat them all!
Mario is always full of energy and strong!
Today, full of energy, Mario is still running, running
He's made it to the castle and gets fireworks!
Lightly sidestepping the Hammer Bros.
Show the last of your power, Mario!
It's been a long journey but it's nearly at an end
You've done it, you've done it! You've defeated Bowser!
Princess Peach says "Thank you"
Mario's got a great big heart!
Mario's adventure is over for now, but
Mario's dream lives forever...
Come on. Sing. You know you want to. [Break via Boing Boing —lyrics taken from Destructoid]

I saw this on college humor or break or something like that
Awesome, just awesome.
wow! this is so nice! especially the idea with the second track at the end!
thats quite a nice new way to play it =D
i loved it
Annnnd there's the cop.
Was he in on it, or were they in the process of being busted?
@strider_mt2k: parking security, not cop :-) and he was happy to get some excitement!
Wow. That was pretty impressive. Imagine all the fiddling that required.
...It probably required a slight lack of life too, but hey, who has one? :P
@mumin: Cool!
What a treat too!
Probably the coolest thing he's seen on the job...ever! :D
@IrisMR: I missed the fiddling?!?
This entire post makes my brain hurt this early in the morning...
What's going on at the end with the double-bottles? Does the parking guy approve or just tolerate? What's up with those insane lyrics? I have a star; why am I not invisible? Why is the lead singer of the Nintendo Big Band tone deaf? Is Mario the most famous Japanese-Italian of all time? Wait, why does Nintendo have a big band at all?
Man, I need my coffee so I can be full of energy and strong...or at least figure out what the hell is going on.
Absolutely brilliant. I never knew the Mario theme had lyrics. Hah.
So awesome, yet disappointingly anti-climactic. What up with the parking guy's reaction?
that pretty much made my day.
This is too awesome...
I cannot believe they had the time and day to do that shit, pretty awsome!!
epic .. truely
Thats a lot of wine bottles....very cool vid though.
I kind of like the rollerblade guy better, he had a huge crowd cheering him on.
Simply fantastic. -1 point for not dressing the security guard up as the princess however.
The simplistic ingenuity of this video is just what I needed for my Tuesday Morning. Thank you Giz.
That had to be a lot of work to get the right "tuning" on all those bottles but that second video was AWESOME!
It's amazing what hash is making those poor kids do over in Japan...
Now, who's the lousy singer? Is she like Milly-Vanilly's long lost Japanese sister? They should've had J-Lo do that song in Salsa.
Clearly the Japanese are superior in their ability to create pointless recreations with robotics.
And we as Americans are superior for wasting time watching. The Japanese have finally beat us.
Maybe impressive but far from being original since Audi had a commercial for it's A3 a couple of years ago doing the exact same thing except for the song. Search for Audi in Crescendo on youtube. I was more impressed watching a full sized car acomplish this feat then a rc car
@strider_mt2k: That was a rent-a-cop [read: security gaurd] fresh out of diapers_
I suppose if someone is to waste time - at least they found something cool and constructive to do with it_
@trippysmurf:
they are Chinese, NOT Japanese
ask any Mandarin speaking person he/she can tell that from the first few seconds of the clip.
anyway, Chinese or Japanese, most kids in both countries love Mario~
:D
That is the craziest coolest thing I have seen in a while... What people can do with a few spare hours and some mary jane.
Made my day.
That will be the coolest thing I see all day!
Truly Cool!!!!!!!!
Wait- THAT'S why the parking garage was closed last week?!? My barrister will be in touch.
That was friggin awesome, my two favorite things combined R/C cars & drinking.
Pretty damn awsome-thanks japan
Nice. How do people come up with these ideas? Can't even begin to imagine the "Eureka!" moment.
The cop at the end: "Very good, now I won't have to kill you and your family".
This guy's entire life purpose was to somehow end up on Gizmodo... wow.
That made my day.
Most peculiar way to play it so far! Video cheered me up and made me laugh.
so they got a whole bunch of the same exact bottles, made a formula for how full or empty (pessimist) they need to be for a certain frequency, filled them up accordingly, and then drove and rc car with a hammer object with a spring along them to play it. Cool, must have took forever to do.
Wine bottles in a parking garage.
Wouldn't playing Nazareth's Hair of the Dog be better?
@92BuickLeSabre:
What's going on at the end with the double-bottles?
Unfortunately bottles have width to them so in order to get notes that are clser together the had to make another row.
Does the parking guy approve or just tolerate?
I'd like to think he just walked in on this
What's up with those insane lyrics?
It's called milking a franchise.
I have a star; why am I not invisible?
The given circumstances of mario, unfortunately, don't apply to this world.
Why is the lead singer of the Nintendo Big Band tone deaf?
Dunno...
Is Mario the most famous Japanese-Italian of all time?
Yes
Wait, why does Nintendo have a big band at all?
Why not?
lame
