Sources at ONN are reporting that the ultra-popular Iron Man trailer—which already has had a sequel—may become a full-length film at "one point in the future." The rumor is supported by some leaked evidence, which includes still pictures as well as other clips. One visibly-shocked Brian Lam—Gizmodo's own Editor-in-Chief and collaborator of cooking blog provençale-cuisine.com—declared: "that's cool. Can I keep the toys?" [ONN—thanks Richard]

Wow... a movie?! I'm such a fan of the long-running series, almost as much as the "Mac ads" TV series franchise (with Mac vs. PC, iPod, iPhone, and MacBook).
Is this a joke?
onion strikes again..lol
^same, i am confused.
Commenter "IronBitch" is right. This really is the problem with Hollywood.
Anytime something is at all popular, they try and milk it for all it's worth. But to screw with Iron Man? It was this close to becoming an awesome underground internet meme, and now, they treat it like some kind of character for kids!
They sell out the true fans to lure in the mainstream consumer and end up with mush...or should I say they sold out the Iron and ended up with Pig Iron!
(Take that Suits!)
Next thing you know they'll probably try to turn it into a "graphic novel"!
I love the onion. So, so much.
Say it ain't so. A movie?! Hollywood has GOT to be out of its damn mind. I give up!
I thought a trailer was supposed to be a preview to the full feature film that is gonna come out?? Damn onions make me cry!!
Awww man, I smell a Box Office bomb.
This movie is going to suck as much as the Simpsons Movie did.
Boy did that movie put me to sleep.
@Simpsons-Movie-ruled: The movie didn't put me to sleep; the sugar crash following the donuts that were chased by 4 MGDs during the feature did.
@Simpsons-Movie-ruled: And yes, I ate donuts and drank beer during the Simpsons Movie. WWHD.
I love reading their ticker, it always cracks me up. My favorites from this one were:
"Obama volunteers demand raise of 6 percent more hope"
"Yahoo! tries to find ways to compete with Google by googling 'ways to compete with google'"
Oh man that had me dying! Also, for the Iron Man Trailer-Movie I'm just going to play along with The Onion and wait for it's anticipated release. The Onion kicks ass!
@Simpsons-Movie-ruled: I see what you did there, your sarcasm is witty!
@OMG! Ponies!: I just saw the movie online,
Why was I going to pay to watch something I get to watch on TV for FREE?!
@Trowble (XBL/PSN): witty=good?
Good $hit! This video is dedicated to all the fan boy manics on aintitcool.com
@Trowble (XBL/PSN): yeah, that ticker is good. my fave was the shooting at the school for the blind causes $200 in damage, no injuries.
@Simpsons-Movie-ruled: and that new M.Night's new movie The Happening won't have a stupid twist?
I was hoping they'd talk about the friggin' mini-series of trailers, clips, photos and "featurettes" that have been released. I feel like I've seen the movie already.
It's kinda like putting your tongue to the 9-volt battery... do it enough times and you're so desensitized that you're eating them for breakfast. Know what I mean?
For a quick second i was lost but the i remembered ONN... this is what sleep deprivation does to someone.
Sad thing is, most of the times the trailers are the best part of going to the movies. I have a higher hopes for this movie making the leap to full-length though.
@nuclearlove: Yea but I would like to see what else is in the movie? and How exactly he does it.
@Simpsons-Movie-ruled: Yea, I saw joke in what you were saying. :)
@B1663R: Yea that was pretty funny too, just not as much as the other two.
That news anchor guy is prettier than my mother.
that's ludicrous! why would anyone make that trailer into a full length feature film? it's almost impossible considering that movies are over 80 minutes long. that's a lot of still frames to put together.
haha. the Onion is so good!
Man has bruised 23 people in a punching spree..Priceless!
@foureight84: I THOUGHT THATS WHAT A TRAILER WAS??? A PREVIEW INTO THE MOVIE? AND DIDNT IT SAY COMING SOON MAY 5TH?
Alright... who's got a towel.. I need to clean my pee from the floor...
You all know there is something called a Opening night day? Its May 2nd I just saw it again for the 2187348702345092 time on TV.
There's three things I look forward to when I visit Wisconsin:
1. Cheese
2. Fireworks
3. The Onion
Wait, this has to be a joke, right? It's kind of obvious that the trailer would be made for a movie, isn't it? Plus, commenters on youtube are not the people to check for the opinion of the public. Most people who comment on youtube destroy the english language (Ha, now I'm going to make a typo) and shouldn't be listened too.
I like the joke, but honestly, I actually enjoy 90 second trailers more than the movies themselves.
Judging by some of the comments, some people are very confused....
We're all being played for fools. Iron suits cannot fly.
@Simpsons-Movie-ruled:
witty=good?
The only thing worse than being witty is not being witty.
And the only thing worse than not being witty is thinking you're witty.
@CaseyG:
doesn't that mean thinking you're witty is worse than being witty, which means there's more things worse than being witty besides not being witty, contradicting the only thing worse than being witty being not being witty.
No matter what, this movie can't possibly suck as bad as the Hulk movie will.
@nojo: Good one!!
Damn! must admit, I never saw this one coming!
My evil plan is to combine the all the trailers and release the film before the studios do *evil laugh* silly hollywood when will they learn to stop giving away all the good parts in trailers.
UUhh... am i the only one who has no idea what is going on? Wasnt iron man always due for release? Wont help me watching the video clip at theonion link because im at work using a pc without sound card...
@dna: No matter what, this movie can't possibly suck as bad as the Hulk movie did.
Corrected.
When I hit that story yesterday on The Onion I cracked up!
It's good to know I'm not the only one watching that trailer a couple of times.
Pop corn and ketchup.
I, for one, have some hard questions about this proposed "full length feature". For example, will the Iron Man retain that funky goatee on the mask's visage? Will it continue to look as if it has some sort of mohawk? Will the glowing eyes continue to seem too close together? Yes, some hard-hitting questions my friends.
I know i will get hounded for this but come on this is a tech news site. If I wanted fake news I would go elsewhere.
@mykalt45: Is this a joke?
Are you retarded?
I know it's not polite to answer a question with a question, so for that I apologise. :-)
@Mandatory_Field: That was originally the plan. Regrettably, talks with Mr. T fell through when studio execs dismissed his demand for 2 points off the gross as "jibba jabba".
@OMG! Ponies!: I believe his lawyer is taking "pitying dem foos" under advisement.
If they make this into a movie I'll feel so ripped off - I payed good money to own the trailer. It's just like when they made the Transformers trailer into a movie or when George Lucas went and rereleased the original star wars trilogy for the third time.
I heard from the best friend of my wife's husband best friend that the origin of the word "trailer" actually refers to the fact that they make it after the movie has already been made using scenes from the movie. Blasphemy.
Plus, as nojo says, iron suits can't fly.
@CaseyG: Thank you, Whistler.
@majortom1981: This is not a "tech news site," it's Gizmodo! Bye!
@majortom1981: I totally agree. Since I'm not in the US, I've never before come across The Onion. It was only when I had my doubts about this video that I looked it up on wikipedia. What is the point in such a website? It may get a few laughs when people first see it but I'm sure the novelty wears off. But more importantly, why is the point of having this on Gizmodo? I'm not here to see fake news.
When they make movies after the trailers, the movies are never as good. I prefer seeing the movie first.
@.tox: You're so right. Why is the point? Why does it all mean? Why ARE we here? To learn about gizmodos! Right? Not vegetables! But, be careful with that Wikipedia, it is to the encyclopedia what The Onion is to the news. It's all fake! It's true! Don't trust it!
Yeah, majortom1981! Yeah, mykalt45! Yeah, makeseven! No, --Tito--! What, Dirk? Yes, Rexter !
nojo: What if you had a giant magnet attached to an aeroplane?
@prince_of_paradox: "What if you had a giant magnet attached to an aeroplane?" Ummm, it would yank your chain?
@Mandatory_Field: troo
@ventivent: Just on a by the by, the Onion is from Chicago.
