There was a Droid Pro price tag sighting today. Exciting! However, if this BlackBerry-meets-Android smartphone is your thing, better pray the current price is a placeholder.

Indeed, the $299 with contract asking price seems a bit high, and the $700 unsubsidized one is even higher. Smartphones aren’t cheap, of course, but as it’s been noted elsewhere today, that price tag makes this device the most expensive Android handset on the market. Instant rebates are still a possibility, although we don’t know for sure.
