While Google continues to crow about Android market share, it’s got to be pretty embarrassing for them to testify under oath that iOS owns their mobile search traffic.

The folks over at 9to5Mac caught this bit of trivia while watching Google’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee the other day. Former FTC official and current Google employee Susan Creighton told the committee that Apple’s iOS devices accounted for 2/3 of Google’s mobile-search traffic.
Creighton also told the committee that Google, Yahoo!, and Microsoft all bid to become the default Mobile Safari search engine. Google of course won that battle. We don’t know the monetary specifics of the deal, but we do know that Apple receives revenue from Google for searches that originate from iOS devices. [9to5Mac]
