Have you seen this photo of White House staffers looking depressed today? It was supposedly taken today, when Obama welcomed Donald Trump to the White House for a visit. But it’s not—the photo is from yesterday when President Obama made an upbeat announcement about Donald Trump’s future presidency.
Yes, it’s a minor quibble. But I’ve seen this photo at least half a dozen times today with tweets like, “White House staffers look on as Obama welcomes Trump. Those faces.” The photo was taken on Wednesday.
Everybody looks depressed, as well they should be, but that depression is a day older than most people on social media are presenting it. Another photo from yesterday is perhaps even more representative of how so many in the nation are feeling. It just shows a White House staffer openly crying.
Every decent American who knows what’s in store for our country under President Trump definitely knows that feeling this week.
