Radio is so wonderful that the ancient medium has managed to slip through the technological cracks, and survive even in our screen-saturated world. This short documentary series about storytellers that keep us trapped in our driveways is really beautiful.

Produced by Andrew Norton in partnership with the radio resource Transom.org, "This Is Radio" launched a week ago with a documentary on 99% Invisible's Roman Mars. Over the next few months a total of seven short profiles interviewing some of the greats, including one of my personal faves, Brooke Gladstone from On the Media.

You know their voices so it's really moving to get to know their stories. Long live the airwaves—even if they're traveling over interwaves. [This Is Radio via Fast Company]
