How many gallons of paint do you reckon these guerrilla whitewashers in New York City have used now, having just completed their millionth square foot of rooftop painting? That's 105 roofs down, another...395,000,000sq/ft to go.

Once all 500 million square foot of roofage in New York gas been painted white, that's enough to lower the temperature by two degrees Fahrenheit. The green campaign not only does that little bit towards saving the planet (though some could question the origins of the paint), but will also reduce the need for airconditioning by 50 per cent, saving money and prolonging the life of the cooling equipment.
