The thing about most GPS systems is that rather than see real-life renderings of where you’re driving/navigating, you’re instead stuck with 2D maps that try to pass off as 3D. To address that issue 3DLabs is working on an interface that would use skinned textures of real-life buildings and landmarks to help you navigate in full 3D. Sounds cool to me, though I’d be afraid of people relying on their “3D map” instead of looking at the road in front of them.
