Last week, Samsung approached Apple with a compromise that would let company sell the Galaxy Tab in Australia. On Tuesday, Apple rejected this settlement, opening the door for a long legal battle.
Apple said this compromise was “one we don’t accept and there is no surprise. The main reason we are here is to prevent the launch and maintain the status quo.” This is somber news for Samsung which was looking for an easy way out in this and possibly other legal battles it is fighting with Apple.
Besides Australia, the two companies are also battling it out in Germany, Japan, the US and South Korea. It’s a nasty situation that’s likely to get worse before it gets better. [Reuters]
