Roadtrippers has a fun little map that translates the setting of the mythical world of Westeros from Game of Thrones to the United States of America. Kings Landing becomes Washington DC, Winterfell becomes Detroit and other famous castles and kingsdoms get scattered across America.
Here are some of Roadtrippers’ US equivalents for Game of Thrones locations:
Winterfell – Detroit
King’s Landing – Washington D.C.
Casterly Rock – Seattle
Highgarden – Las Vegas
The Wall – Canadian Border
Castle Black – Canadian Border
Dorne – Southern California
Harrenhal – Denver
Eyrie – Appalachia
I might move Dorne to Miami—Oberyn Martell would love South Beach, right?—and try to fit in New York somewhere (probably as a replacement for DC as King’s Landing) but most of these make some sense to me.
