Robert Cringely is pretty convinced that Apple is going to come out with a Tablet Mac, possibly as early as January. And he’s basing not just basing his claim on those news reports that surfaced earlier this year saying that Quanta, which builds laptops for Apple, had switched production to a tablet-style computer. What makes him think that Apple might actually be doing this is that soon they’ll be able to incorporate ultra-wide band networking technology into a Tablet Mac, something which would make it possible to reliably stream high-definition around a home wireless network. So a Tablet Mac wouldn’t just be a fancy way to write your name, it’d be a multimedia hub of sorts.
