I’m usually skeptical about wireless speakers, but Acoustic Research claims their new 5.1 system is the first “high performance” wireless speaker package. So what does the WHT6024 have that others don’t? AR says the system (which works over 2.4GHz frequency) continuously searches for and eliminates interference from wireless networks, microwaves, etc. On top of that, each of the 5 satellites has dual 3-inch drivers and a half-inch tweeter, complemented by a sub that houses a 125-watt amp. Personally, I have to hear it to believe it. The speakers will be out next month for $799, or for a more subtle approach, there’s always the alternative.
