‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 Sure Seems Like It’s Going Back to ‘The Clone Wars’

One of the most exciting and surprising moments of Ahsoka season one didn’t have Rosario Dawson in it at all. It was the moment when Ariana Greenblatt took over the character for a flashback to Snips and her master, Anakin (played by Hayden Christensen), back in The Clone Wars. Well, we now have pretty solid proof that’s happening again in Ahsoka season two. And it’s going to be cool. Literally.

On display at the Lucasfilm panel at D23, we have two outfits for Anakin and Ahsoka to wear in the snow. Anakin’s looks very much like the one he wore in the season one episode “Trespass.” It also looks very much like it was inspired by Han Solo’s Hoth outfit in The Empire Strikes Back (or a version of it).

There’s also a cold gear costume on display for Padawan Ahsoka, which is curious because she’s not in that specific Clone Wars episode.

We don’t know specifically how, when, or for what purpose this likely flashback takes place, but it is incredibly exciting to get not just more interactions between young Ahsoka and Anakin but to get Greenblatt and Christensen back and some killer new outfits for the characters.

This also kind of confirms what we had expected about later in the day at D23. That Ahsoka will play a part in the huge entertainment showcase Disney has planned for Friday evening. We’ll let you know what footage is played, if there’s news, and what you can watch later.
