Amazon Prime is the best deal in tech. And today, the world's largest store gave us not one but two new reasons why. Now, Amazon Prime members will enjoy free, next-day shipping on a number of partner sites.
The new perk will take some time to extend its reach, and for now, British clothing retailer All Saints is advertising free shipping for Prime Members. Re/code's Jason Del Rey explains how it works:
Amazon customers who want to buy AllSaints apparel found on the giant marketplace will have to click through to AllSaints.com, log in with their Amazon usernames and passwords and use the payment methods they have stored with Amazon to qualify for the free shipping deal. Amazon charges AllSaints a small fee each time one of its customers clicks through from Amazon.com to AllSaints.com, but does not take a cut of the sale. In that way, it's closer to an advertising deal.
Amazon is obviously in talks with other partners. They appear to be going after clothing retailers, though. Re/code also reports that Abercrombie and Fitch as well as Neiman Marcus declined to participate in the new program. But nobody said world domination would be easy. [Re/code]
