Amazon’s dropped the price of popular new tracks on its online store to 69 cents, compared to its usual 89 cent pricepoint. (Best joke in the comments wins respect; terrible puns will be met with serious scorn.)

Amazon’s also selling 1500 albums for $5 next month. Amazon’s clearly playing hardball against Apple, who’s doing the exact opposite: pricing popular songs at a premium, $1.29.
