Another teen dystopian movie, from the maker of Night at the Museum and Real Steel

Fox has already optioned Alexandra Bracken’s planned YA trilogy Black is the Color, with Night at the Museum and Real Steel director Shawn Levy producing. The first book will be released by Disney Hyperion in summer 2012. The plot follows “a 16-year-old with uncontrollable telekinetic abilities who joins a group of teens on the run from the government.” Perhaps bleak YA dystopias are the new vampires? [Variety]
