I’ll admit the first thing I do upon turning the phone alarm off is to fire up my emails and then Twitter. And that’s all before I get out of bed! I stop short of actually replying to messages, though.
According to some research undertaken by Ericsson ConsumerLab, I’m not alone—35 per cent of Americans with smartphones also open up apps before washing the sleepy dust out of their eyes. Does that sound like you? If you check Facebook while still under the covers, you’re amongst 18 per cent of American smartphone owners.
A further 23 per cent surfs the web using a browser, and slightly more people (24 per cent) check their emails. [Ericsson research via The Atlantic]
