Along with the barrage of updates and novelties unleashed today from Cupertino, Apple has pushed out the Apple TV 4.4 software update, which features some new ways to stream content to your TV.

The most notable addition is AirPlay mirroring, which allows you to stream whatever is on your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 directly to you HDTV. Just as hockey season is about to get underway, Apple has added the NHL to the list of sports leagues you can subscribe to for live streaming games. For your more serious side, the update adds access to free, live Wall Street Journal video content. That’s all pretty cool! Oh and you can look at images recently synced to Photo Stream—too bad we already decided Photo Stream is flawed and kind of creepy. [Apple via MacWorld]
