Apple’s iPad Pro is the quintessential rumor gadget, a monster tablet that only exists in speculation and hearsay. Some of that techspeak’s circled around the iPad Pro’s (or iPad Air Plus or whatever) physical size, all rumored 12.9 inches of it. Even more has curiously considered an iPen in Apple’s future, despite Steve Jobs’ explicit wishes otherwise.
Now, leaks are turning their attention to the iPad Pro’s display, specifically the tech that will make the iPad smarter. Apple is reportedly requesting silver nanowire material samples from LG and Samsung, among other display companies. What does that mean for the fabled iPad Pro? Well, these silver nanowires are much more flexible than what’s currently used in the iPad, and this means it will be able to more greatly understand pressure placed on the glass by a finger, or maybe a stylus of sorts.
This reaffirms that the iPad Pro is positioning to be a professional devices for work types and also artists who want to a little bit more creativity out of their tablet. The new iPad is also expected to have Force Touch tech (as seen in the Apple Watch), NFC, and also USB-Type C adapter, all of which are brand new features for Apple’s tablet lineup. [Apple Insider]
