Ask Google Earth Whether it’s Raining or Snowing Right Now

Why would you want to see real-time snow and rain on Google Earth, you ask, when weather sites or even your smartphone will tell you just as quickly? Don’t give me that—you know how often they’re incorrect.

At least with Google Earth, it’s all happening in real-time, so you can actually see whether it’s worth risking a run outside, or trip to the beach. The new “clouds” feature is available in Google Earth version 5.2, and covers some of North America and Western Europe for now, so if you haven’t upgraded to that version yet, do so now. Your fragile skin will thank you for it. [Google via Fast Company]
