Batman Hanging With Scooby-Doo Is Less Awkward Than You’d Expect

Warner Bros.’ animation divisions are always doing unexpected stuff. From Lego Batman movies on the big screen, to Willy Wonka crossovers with Tom and Jerry on the small screen, you never know what crazy scheme will be next.

The studio’s latest project doesn’t disappoint on the absurd scale. It’s Batman meets Scooby-Doo in Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold, which hits Blu-ray Tuesday January 9. And if you want to know what the hell that meet-up looks like, well, here’s a clip of the two worlds colliding.

Like the headline says, that’s much less awkward than I expected it to be. Everyone knows who everyone is so there’s none of that “Wait, you’re dressed like a bat?” nonsense.

Now, while this might be the first time you’ve seen Batman with Mystery Inc., they have actually met before. Back in the 1970s, Batman appeared in the episodes “The Dynamic Scooby-Doo Affair” and “The Caped Crusader Caper” of The New Scooby-Doo Movies, which were compiled for a DVD release called “Scooby-Doo Meets Batman.”

Diedrich Bader is the voice of Batman in this movie, by the way, and other DC heroes will be showing up too. Here’s a link to the film.
