The BBC is planning to release an odd-on for portable MP3 players that will turn the players into digital radios. Right now, there’s no word on when (or if) the device will come out, but given the rise in popularity of portable MP3 players, it appears that the BBC is feeling the pinch and is losing listeners. Any talk that Apple is helping out the BBC (apparently, such talk exists) is purely speculative, which is just how we like it. Even though there’s no timetable on when to expect the device, the famous phrase “sooner rather than later” was echoed by a BBC spokesman.
