BeepEgg Timer Sings While His Comrades Die a Horrible Death

Illustration for article titled BeepEgg Timer Sings While His Comrades Die a Horrible Death

I've seen timers that change color when your eggs are boiled to perfection, but never one that sings to you. Not only that, the BeepEgg's tunes mock the untimely death of his comrades.

The timer beeps once at 113 degrees and a second time when the water begins to boil. After that you will hear Killing Me Softly when the eggs should be soft, I Wish I was a Hen for medium and the epic tune from Carmina Burana when the eggs have reached a hard boil. Yeah, that's pretty cold—but the eggs will have their revenge when the BeepEgg's non-replaceable battery dies out after 18 months. [Firebox via Pocket-Lint via Ubergizmo]

BeepEgg's non-replaceable battery dies out after 18 months

I looked for the product at the Apple store, but couldn't find it.

Note to manufacturers of otherwise interesting products: Yes, we really do want to use the product beyond the life cycle of the battery. Thank you.
