From the department of experiments no one ever asked for, these folks decided to inject a blood-filled tick with hydrogen peroxide. The results are distinctly messy.
Edit: The ethics of tick-killing in this way are interesting, and I have ignored them. A relevant piece of scientific literature: Do insects feel pain? Second edit: It’s been pointed out that ticks are arachnids, not insects. Finding remarkably little info on arachnid pain. To be on the safe side, you should probably kill your ticks (as humanely as possible) before attempting something like this—and even then you’d want to be careful about any diseases the tick might be carrying.
