If the world seems a little grayer today, if children seem to laugh less, or if puppies and kittens look a little less cute, please don't be confused. This is merely the consequence of the devastating news that Stan Lee will somehow not have a cameo in Marvel's upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy film.
In an interview with Dweebcast, Lee admitted the solemn news, thus changing the entertainment landscape for all time. As for the reason behind this devastating loss:
No, I'm afraid not, that's the one group I didn't create. I didn't write Guardians of the Galaxy. I'm not even sure who they all are. I can't wait to see the movie.
I didn't realize that Stan Lee had such strict guidelines regarding his cameos, although as Nerd Bastards points out, he actually did write the Tales to Astonish comic that GotG member Groot first appeared in back in 1960, although I guess if he doesn't know the team's roster, he also probably doesn't know he has a legitimately claim to make his customary appearance.
Either way, we must try to soldier on in the face of this heart-breaking news. None of us want to live in a world where Stan Lee doesn't make constant, goofy cameos in our most important entertainment events, but such is the world we now find ourselves living in. The only thing we can do is try to believe truly; it's what Stan would want his True Believers to do.
