Thanks to our tipster at T-Mobile, we've gotten notice that the MotoRIZR is going to be headed their way tomorrow, March 21. The pricing is going to be $249 MSRP, with a $50 new activation rebate and or a $50 Mail in Rebate.

As for features, there's a music player, 2.0-megapixel camera, myFaves support, and the contentment you can only get by knowing you're using the same phone as a bunch of people who attended the Oscars.

DISCUSSION

I purchased the RIZR at a t-mobile store on saturday morning. i thought i'd done enough research to think that it had what i was looking for - audio player, 2.0 MP camera, and, of course, the phone features. Ultimately I had NOT done enough research.

There are a few annoyances with this phone. First of all, for the life of me I could not figure out how to turn off the keypad tones while keeping the ringer above silent or vibrate. Second, when sending a picture or text message the message is not moved to a sent box - it stays in the outbox. (I wound up sending the same picture message three times to the same person before I realized what was happening.) But the worst offense, in my opinion, is that there is no headphone jack. To listen to music (or go hands-free) you have to use a Bluetooth headset. Sure, that's cool, but when operating in airplane mode Bluetooth is disabled. Well, that just stinks.

Beyond those problems the phone works well. The photo quality is as good as I expected. The music player does handle files that are higher than 128 kps. And the calls come in pretty clear. But the phone is just not for me.

I'm returning it on Monday.
