Casio comes out of absolutely nowhere with a 2.2″ amorphous TFT LCD capable of display VGA resolution. Hell, I didn’t even know Casio made screens.
If you’ve forgoten your display terminology, VGA resolution is 640 x 480 dots – what used to be the standard number of pixels a screen could display at the same time. Modern computer screens (like the one you’re looking at now) can display, oh, 1024 x 768 dots of resolution, and often more. (OMG, N00b. – ed.)
But you see, the difference here is size. Because as we all know, size makes all the difference.
640 x 480 is quite an impressive number of pixels considering this screen is only 2.2 inches. Even the most modern Japanese phones I can think of are equipped with screens capable of displaying 320 x 240, so this is certainly a welcome innovation.
Call now, and you also get a higher contrast ratio (meaning bigger differences between blacks and white colors), and increased viewing angle.
