Look for the clamshell Calypso Wireless C1250i at the upcoming 3GSM World Congress 2006 trade show in Barcelona, Feb 13-16, where we’ll see lots of awesome mobile products that will probably get little or no play in the USA. This VoIP phone, however, is a small GSM phone with WiFi that uses an Intel PXA processor running Windows CE 5.0. The company claims that it’s also the first cellphone that will seamlessly connect to both networks, with Internet speeds ranging from 11Mbps—200 times faster than any other wireless service available in the United States. This also means excellent video capabilities and real-time videoconferencing.
