Centrifuge Tests 'Would a Lava Lamp Work on Jupiter?'

"A strong wind is produced as the centrifuge induces a cyclone...The smell of boiling insulation emanates from the overloaded 25 amp cables. If not perfectly adjusted and lubricated, it will shred the teeth off brass gears in under a second."

That's Neil Fraser's description of his 10-foot centrifuge he used to induce 3x gravity onto a lava lamp. And even though the lava lamp succeeds (doesn't explode all over the place), the test itself is still a worthy watch. It's not often you see the world from a centrifuge's POV.
