Last week we got a few teaser images for Play Arts Kai's latest Batman figure, and while it wasn't up to the usual craziness levels we've come to expect from Square-Enix, it looks great. However, new pictures reveals there is one, slightly kooky and fun aspect to the toy: a rotatable cape for maximum swooshiness.
Based on the video game Batman: Arkham Knight, the figure comes with a plethora of accessories: the usual multiple pairs of hands to pose and grip the other two accessories he comes with, a Batarang and a grappling gun. There's the usual stand for posing things too, but the real star is Batman's secret weapon: his poseable cape.
The cape is jointed in two parts — a hinge to lever it up and down, and them a rotating swivel hinge so you can pose it being dragged down while Batman's hunched over or what have you, or to have it being billowed by fake wind. It's such a simple little thing, but it looks cool and injects a lot of personality into the figure that it otherwise wouldn't have with a normal cape.
The Arkham Knight Batman will be out in June (just in time for the game!), for around $80. Not gonna lie, almost entirely worth it for that cape. So swooshy!
