Deliberately courting the ire of Apple lovers everywhere, Eliot Van Buskirk of CNET gives five reasons why not to buy an iPod: its battery life is too short, you can’t/shouldn’t jog with it, it’s expensive, you can’t use it to make high-quality recordings, and it doesn’t work with any of the other online music stores besides iTunes. All true, but it says a lot about the excellence of the iPod’s design that it has been able to make people overlook its shortcomings.
