Comdex highlights

Doesn’t sound like we missed much by skipping the Comdex trade show earlier this week in Las Vegas, but there were a few highlights here and there from the show floor. Of the gadgets he saw, Jack Schofield of the Guardian liked the Totally No Noise TNN 500A, a completely silent PC from Zalman Tech (pictured at right), Pretec’s DP-353 iPen 3-in-1 pen-shaped digital camera, and Digitalway’s 1.6GB MPIOHS100 keychain hard drive. Tim Higgins of SmallNetBuilder also went to Comdex and spotted a “volume regulator” from TERK that keeps the volume on your TV steady while changing channels or when commercials are on, Protectserve Pacific’s RFLoc security device which can automatically lock down your PC if you move more than six feet away from it, and lots of USB memory card readers with video outputs for looking at digital photos on a TV.
