Marvel fans had hoped a new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday might be coming today but, alas, it was yet another case of online rumors being woven from the fabric of lies. However, Coyote vs. Acme has released a new teaser that pokes fun at those Doomsday teasers, letting us know that Bugs Bunny—who assumes the role of a top-secret source here, though there’s no disguising that distinctive voice—will return when the Looney Tunes movie hits the big screen.
While the creators of Coyote vs. Acme couldn’t have known it back when they were making the film, its themes about the sinister intentions of big corporations have been mirrored in its real-life journey. After being shelved by Warner Bros. in 2023—a move that inspired backlash from fans, including some famous names—it was sold to Ketchup Entertainment, the same company that picked up and distributed The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie.
And very soon, fans will get to see director Dave Green’s film—which features Will Forte, Lana Condor, and John Cena among its human cast, plus plenty of animated favorites—and judge for themselves, rather than forever wondering why Warner Bros. was so eager to drop an anvil on its own legacy characters.
Coyote vs. Acme hits theaters August 28.
