When Jodie Whitaker’s take on the Doctor begins her time-travelling adventures next year, she’ll be surrounded by a lot of new faces. Meet the three newest regulars in the Doctor Who cast.

According to the BBC, the Doctor will be flanked by her new “friends” Yasmin (Mandip Gill), Ryan (Tosin Cole), and Graham (Bradley Walsh).

While the official announcement avoids the word “companion,” a Radio Times report suggests that Walsh’s character will be joining Whitaker on the TARDIS (a rumor we already reported on back in August). The roles of Cole and Gill’s characters, meanwhile, are less clear.

“New head writer and executive producer Chris Chibnall, who made the decision to cast the first ever woman in the iconic role, is also shaking up who will travel with the Doctor in the TARDIS, with a team of new characters,” said the BBC in a statement.

The statement also confirms that the next series will begin airing in Autumn 2018, with ten week run of fifty minute episodes, somewhat confirming other previous rumors about the new series. Those reports suggested a 60 minute runtime for every episode in the new season, but that will only be for the premiere.

Mandip Gill is likely best known for her role on the British soap opera Hollyoaks, while Bradley Walsh played the lead in Law & Order: UK and planned Danny Baldwin in Coronation Street. Tosin Cole also played a regular role in Hollyoaks, though his most prominent role is probably his minor part as X-wing pilot Lt. Bastian (Red Four) in The Force Awakens.

Doctor Who will begin airing in Autumn 2018.
