Universes are colliding. Noel Clarke, who played Mickey on Doctor Who (and a small role in Star Trek into Darkness), is directing a science fiction film called The Anomaly. Co-starring Ian Somerhalder from Vampire Diaries.

The Anomaly stars Luke Hemsworth, brother of Chris and Liam, who previously appeared in the Australian soap opera Neighbours, plus Somerhalder, Brian Cox, Alexis Knapp and Clarke himself. The plot sounds pleasingly dotty, according to Screen Daily:

Simon Lewis’ screenplay follows the travails of a traumatised ex-soldier who wakes up in the back of a van, alongside a kidnapped boy, to find that he only has only nine minutes and 37 seconds of consciousness to work out why and how he got there.
