Alright, ladies and gentlemen, start your engines: EBGames has started taking pre-orders for the XBox 360 over here in the States. But before you go clicking on that link, take note that EBGames is apparently only selling the XBox 360 in “bundle” packs; there’s the Core Bundle, and then there’s the Ultimate Bundle.

The Core Bundle comes with the XBox 360 Core system (that’s the lower-priced $299 version without the hard drive and XBox Live), Perfect Dark Zero Limited Edition, Dead or Alive 4, Kameo: Elements of Power, Project Gotham Racing 3, an extra wired controller and a memory unit. Its price: $599.93.

And if you think that’s pricey, wait ’til you hear the price for the Ultimate Bundle. But first, its contents: the XBox 360 Premium system (that’s the standard-priced $399 one with the wireless control, headset, remote, etc.), Perfect Dark Zero Limited Edition, Dead or Alive 4, Kameo: Elements of Power, Project Gotham Racing 3, an extra Wireless Controller, a Play & Charge Kit (for the extra controller) and a rechargeable battery pack (for the included controller). Its price: $699.92.

Yeah. We weren’t kidding when we said this sucker’s ‘spensive. And if you’re like most gamers, you’d probably want the Premium version anyway, since that’s the one with all the tricked out features XBox 360 has been touting.

Time to take out that second mortgage I guess.
