Saturday night, Marvel Studios had its first San Diego Comic-Con Hall H panel in two years, and it came ready with plenty of reveals. Along with another look at Avengers: Doomsdaywe learned a little bit about what’s on deck for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the final stretch of the Multiverse Saga and even past that.

Everyone in the crowd got Doctor Doom masks and capes, which helped kill the time when the panel ran late. Even H.E.R.B.I.E. came out to entertain the crowd a bit before a very awesome trailer was played encompassing all eras of the MCU. “The paths they chose. The heroes they became. The sacrifices they made across every universe. Connect us all. Marvel Studios returns to Hall H,” the title cards read.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige then came out, amped about the trailer, and revealed that while there’s a lot happening in the world of Marvel overall, like the upcoming TV show Vision Quest, this panel was going to focus mostly on movies. First up…

Avengers: Endgame Encore

Things began with the re-release of Avengers: Endgame happening this September. Feige showed a special trailer filled with scenes from the movie, as well as bootleg footage from opening night of the crowd going wild. “In 2019 one movie brought the world together,” the screen said. “Reassemble the team. Return to theaters. Relive the experience. The story continues,” before a new logo and a promise of a tease from Doomsday.

Ryan Gosling is Ghost Rider

The panel then had its first big surprise, announcing that Ryan Gosling, late of Project Hail Mary, will join the MCU as Ghost Rider. Coming in 2028, the film will be directed by Deadpool & Wolverine’s Shawn Levy from a script by Jonathan Tropper.

Apparently, though Gosling had talked about wanting to play the character for years, it was on the set of their upcoming film Star Wars: Starfighter (which Feige said he saw and loved) where it all came together.

Spider-Man and Punisher vs. Hulk

Feige then began to talk about the next Marvel movie in December when he was interrupted by Jon Bernthal. Bernthal pointed out that there was another movie coming out first, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, in a week’s time. So, they played a clip from the film. It showed the Hulk absolutely destroying Spider-Man when a couple of grenades are thrown into the fray. It’s the Punisher there to help Spidey.

“Frank, what are you doing?” Spidey asks. “This is above your pay grade. It’s the Hulk!” He fires a bunch of bullets at him but nothing works. Spider-Man then grabs Frank with a web and, in slow motion, slides him across the floor so he can shoot at Hulk from the ground. It’s a very, very cool shot. Spider-Man webs Hulk, and Frank throws a little disc at him. Hulk catches it. “Are you kidding?” he asks. Then Frank shoots it, and Hulk flies back.

The pair jump behind a table to hide. Frank was supposed to be protecting MJ, but apparently MJ told him to protect Spidey. At hearing this, Spidey is intrigued. “Did she actually say that?” “Are you blushing, daffodil?” Frank asks. They talk about how to try tp stop him, and Spidey says he has a device that will do it. Frank makes an excuse to do something else, and Spidey calls him on it. “Are you just trying to get out of fighting the Hulk?”

Avengers: Doomsday‘s new cast member

It was time for Doomsday, but first, the Russo brothers revealed 16 cast members, most of whom appeared from stages in the back of Hall H. There was Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Simu Liu, James Marsden, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn, and Tenoch Huerta Mejía in the back. In the front were Hayley Atwell, confirming she will return as Peggy Carter, as well as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal.

Once everyone made it to the front, someone had a question in the audience. It was Ryan Reynolds in a Deadpool costume. And after a few jokes, he asked the Russos about being in the movie. They said the movie was completely shot but, maybe, there was some room for additional photography.
