Here’s an exclusive first image of the Decepticons, partying like maniacs after having conquered Earth in the new alternate-universe Transformers: All Hail Megatron. As we reported, All Hail Megatron takes place in a universe where Optimus Prime and the Autobots weren’t there to save us puny Earthlings from being taken over by the Decepticons, and America gets smashed. And writer Shane McCarthy gives a new hint of a plot twist in the comic, which comes out in two weeks.

McCarthy hints the Autobots, who are absent at the start of the comic, may actually show up eventually. And there’ll be a fantastic comic fight scene, a “knock ‘em down, drag ‘em out ‘war’ between giant robots that’ll tear cities apart [and] bring down countries.” So either there’ll be a whole new breed of robot rebels that rise up against the Decepticons or we get Optimus Prime back. Win-win, either way. The 12 issue series is out on July 9, 2008.
