Here’s a nice, cheerful story to launch you into Memorial Day Weekend. When Allan Dunn, 86, committed suicide, his friends visited his apartment to collect old belongings. They found said belongings, but also a freezer containing his wife’s decade-old body.
Dunn’s neighbors had wondered where his wife was all that time, but had always been told by the reclusive man that she was in a nursing home. When, actually, she was dead, in a freezer. Police speculate that he concealed her death so he could collect her benefits, though who knows what drives someone to do something so perverse.
