FrienZoo Animal-Shaped Desktop PCs

Reading time 1 minute

Nevermind that feline-inspired monitor we reported on a couple weeks ago; IT Japan’s new “FrienZoo” line of all-in-one desktops is the cat’s meow. Clearly aimed for use in elementary schools and nurseries, the lineup consisting of 10 different animals is intended to give off an image of “a friend” to children. That’s until your friend shows you Goatse; let’s hope he hasn’t made his way to Japan yet.

The strikingly “anime-looking” lineup of animals consists of a bear, rabbit, panda, squirrel, frog, tiger, mouse, monkey, chick, and koala. I had hoped for “horseshoe crab,” “lemur,” or even a simple “Swamp Thing” somewhere in there, but you can’t have everything.

If you’ve ever wondered what drives any of these animals, it’s pretty simple. All of the above feature 2GHz Celeron processors, 256MB of DDR RAM, 40GB hard drives, a 52x CD-ROM drive, and 15 inch LCDs. No pricing information is available, unless you happen to operate a preschool in Japan.
