In the event you find a spare $23,000, we request you send it our way. Then, at least, we could afford Fujitsu General’s new “LPF-D711” projectors. Equipped with the capability to reproduce oh, only 10 quintillion shades of color (trivia: there are 43 quintillion possible positions of a Rubik’s Cube), it’s also got 1080p (1920 x 1080) projection. I don’t think I’d be able to tell the difference between all of those shades, but hey, the more the merrier. As for actual color production, that’s a mere 68.7 billion.
Other specifications of the obnoxiously well featured projector include HDMI, DVI-D, Component, Composite, S-Video, Analog RGB, and even RS-232C (Serial) inputs, and a 3300 to 1 contrast ratio. As far as I know, none of those inputs are technically capable of producing signals that can designate which of the 10 quintillion shades to use, so I suspect 9.99 x 1018 shades may go to waste.
