If you spend any time on the internet at all, this shouldn't shock you: Game of Thrones was the most pirated show of the year.

Dexter, last year's number one, fell to second place because dire wolf enthusiasts downloaded a single episode of GoT 4,280,000 times. Also because Game of Thrones is awesome. Winter is coming again in March, giving fans of the series a chance to up that number for 2013. [TorrentFreak]

What a coincidence...the two most pirated shows are shows that are completely access restricted? The only way you can legally obtain Showtime and HBO shows is to either, pay for a premium cable package (upwards of $200/month with internet) or wait a year. For the rest of us, piracy is the ONLY option.

Pretty dumb if you ask me!!! I pay for Walking Dead, and Mad Men, and even Top Chef...because they are premium content and they are available as they air. If HBO and Showtime would get a clue and start offering their shows on iTunes, or better yet a subscription to their streaming service without the need of crap cable, they would be making a LOT more money and have a lot less to cry about.
