I regularly pull extra-hard on bus handles, quietly flexing my biceps (and triceps, if possible), sneaking in a small work-out on my way across town. Designer Junjie Zhang has dreamed up a way to generate power from doing just that.
Swinging your body about while holding onto bus rails is pretty fun, but if you’ve got an iPod or phone to plug into and maximize the energy you’re producing—all the better. It’s unlikely local councils or transport companies will actually invest in this great scheme though—not when they can’t even get trains and buses to run on time anymore. [Yanko Design]
