Gizmodo is looking for smart, snappy writers to produce news stories for the Tech News vertical.

We’re looking for freelance writers to cover breaking technology, science, and tech policy, and tech culture news. We’re interested in news of the day; short, timely analysis pieces; and reporting on strange or wonderful corners of the internet. Stories are typically assigned and published the same day.

Some areas of interest: the future of transportation, tech company business trends, crypto news, offbeat internet trends, social platform news, AI’s influence on the workplace and recruiting, influencer culture and trends, and DIY tech.

We are not looking for consumer tech news writers at this time.

Please reach out if:

  • You consistently file clean copy
  • You have a keen news sense and can identify stories that will resonate with our audience
  • You have a punchy writing voice and are familiar with Gizmodo’s general tone and subject areas
  • You are familiar with the major players and trends in the tech world
We pay $100 per short news article, with a higher rate for more in-depth stories.**To apply, please email a resume and 3-5 clips to [email protected]**
