It appears that Google Chrome finally overtook Microsoft Internet Explorer as the world's most popular browser last week—at least according to statistics fromthe web analytics service Statcounter. As TNW points out, measuring this kind of usage is hardly a perfect science, but as you can see from the trend line in the graph above, this is the way things have been going for some time now. Rats! Just when Internet Explorer was starting to get good. [Statcounter via Global Nerdy via The Next Web]
Just out of curiosity, how's Chrome adoption been by businesses? Does anyone here work at a company where the IT group has defaulted to Chrome for web browsing? My company still is reliant on IE but I'm wondering if slowly companies are starting to switch over or if these gains are only on personal computers?
Those ads on Gmail and Google proper telling you to switch over to Chrome must have really helped get the word out to non-techies.
