Google Wallet in its newly revamped form is meant to be a way to send money to other people without difficulty or thought or regret. To make the process easier, you now just need someone’s phone number to get the cash flowing.

The process should be much the same as it is with the current Wallet app, only using a phone number rather than email address. I just have to enter the contact info, amount of money, and then my friend gets a message with a secure link to deposit cash.

Google says the update is in the next version of the Wallet app, which should be landing on iOS and Android within the next few days.
